It turns out that it is a sizable job to fix the zip utility. The filesystem itself needs repairing. I (tech guy) am visiting family for xmas but will do it as soon as I get back. Please accept my appologies for the problem. The utility does work most of the time. If you get the error message, press the back button and then try again. I find it to work 60% of the time. You can also right click and choose 'save file as'.
